Appearance of Can Giuoc bridge with investment capital of 150 billion officially open the traffic
Can Giuoc bridge meets people’s expectations after many years of travelling back and forth between Can Giuoc town and Phuoc Lai commune by ferry, which is very inconvenient.
On August 30th, 2023, the People’s Commitee of Long An province organized the inauguration and opening of Can Giuoc bridge across Can Giuoc river.
Attending the ceremony were former Politburo member, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, leaders of Long An province and many local people.
From the time of commencemnet of construction on March 31st, 2021 to August 30th, 2023. During a total construction period of 518 days, the project with a length of 417m, a width of 8m, and a design tonnage of 18 tons was completed and put into operation 1 minth earlier than required.
It is know that Can Giuoc bridge not only solves the difficult travel problems of local people, it also shortens the travel time to industrial parks such as Tan Kim, Long Hau, Tan Lap,…in the district. Open up opportunities for trade development and inter-regional connection with Ho Chi Minh City.
In the future, Can Giuoc bridge will contribute to making Can Giuoc district an economic key of Long An bordering Ho Chi Minh City.
This location is farr from the central area of the district, making inter-regional connectivity limited, making it difficult to travel, trade, and transport goods.
The project being put into use is a step in concretizing the direction of trafic development planning of the province and district. Ensuring continous and smooth traffic connection from the district center to lower communes, reducing traffic pressure through Thu Bo bridge.
